Introduction.
At Web Online Ruler, accessible from webonlineruler.com, user privacy is one of our main priorities. This Privacy Policy document outlines the types of information we do (and do not) collect and record when you interact with our website. If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us.
1. Zero Camera Policy.
Unlike other online ruler applications that suggest camera-based AR (Augmented Reality) measuring features, Web Online Ruler does not request camera permissions or video feeds.
We explicitly avoid camera integration to prevent any potential vulnerability, video recording, or unauthorized image processing. Our measurements are calculated mathematically using physical screen dimensions and reference shapes, making our tool 100% safe and secure to use anywhere.
2. Local Storage & Calibration Sizing.
To keep the online ruler accurate across browser restarts, we save your configuration preferences locally in your web browser. This includes:
- Your custom calibrated Pixels Per Inch (PPI) value.
- Your preferred measurement unit (centimeters, inches, or pixels).
- Your interface theme preference (light mode or dark mode).
These values are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. They remain on your physical device, are never uploaded, and are never shared with web servers. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser cache.
3. Information We Collect.
Web Online Ruler does not offer user registration or profile creation.
If you contact us directly via our feedback form or email, we may receive additional information about you, such as your name, email address, subject of your inquiry, message body, and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used strictly to answer your inquiry and improve calibration metrics.
We do not share, sell, or rent your email addresses or personal correspondence with third parties.
4. Log Files & Analytics.
Web Online Ruler follows standard hosting procedures using log files. These files log visitors when they navigate websites. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamps, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks.
These logs are not linked to any personally identifiable information. The purpose of this data is to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather demographic information for hosting performance.
